YOUR PEOPLE. YOUR PURPOSE. YOUR NEXT STEP.
Google Workspace: what it does, who it suits and where to start.
Business email and a shared place to get work done.
What it does—and where it fits.
Google Workspace combines business email with tools such as Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets and Meet. Its place in a website project is behind the scenes: receiving enquiries, sharing proposals and keeping your team organised. It is not the same purchase as hosting a custom website.
Is it a useful fit for you?
A small team that wants an email address on its own domain and shared documents. A sole trader may find one mailbox enough. If your current email provider already meets your needs, changing providers may add work without improving the customer experience.
A customer-first example
An electrician receives a quote request at a business address, shares a clear estimate and keeps the agreed appointment in a team calendar. The useful outcome is a dependable response process, not simply owning more apps.
The story and the people behind it.
The Workspace name arrived in 2020, replacing G Suite. Google had already built the suite around familiar communication and collaboration tools. Workspace is operated by Google, whose parent company is Alphabet. Google’s current company information identifies Sundar Pichai as CEO of Google and Alphabet.
Costs worth understanding before you start.
Compare per-user charges, the billing commitment, storage and the features you actually need. A low headline monthly equivalent can represent an annual commitment. Domain registration is separate. Plan migration time before changing an existing email service.
Prices, included features, availability and leadership can change. Use the provider’s current plan and terms pages as the purchase reference. DigiSites does not sell or administer this third-party service for you.
How to get started.
- List the people who need separate accounts and the addresses customers should use.
- Compare the current Australian plans, commitment periods and renewal conditions.
- Use the referral or ordinary link below to start on Google’s own website. Create the account yourself and keep its recovery details.
- Follow Google’s domain verification and mail setup instructions. If email is already in use, plan the change carefully and preserve existing DNS records until the migration is ready.
- Test sending and receiving with an outside address, and test the enquiry journey from your website. Enable strong account protection and review access as people join or leave.
One detail that can save a wrong turn.
Google Workspace is not a bulk email marketing service. If you need permission-based newsletters and unsubscribe handling, compare a dedicated service such as Kit.
Take the next step when it makes sense.
